AUGEN GALLERY SHINES SPOTLIGHT ON ARTIST CYNTHIA MOSSER
Portland, OR – April 9, 2019/ - The Augen Gallery shines a spotlight on native Portland artist, Cynthia Mosser. Mosser, who is having her sixth solo exhibition, is known for her layered, whimsical, abstract, mixed media and gouache paintings. The exhibition titled “EFFERVESCENT,” will encompass a variety of new paintings, inspired by the ocean, plants and Hungarian folk art designs.
“I am a whimsy and color junkie,” admits artist Cynthia Mosser. “I have always loved taking the viewer on an exciting visual journey through my art. The idea of transporting the viewer (and myself) away from everyday life is my raison d’être.”
The Augen Gallery is located in Portland’s Pearl District at 716 NW Davis Street, Portland, OR 97209. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am – 5:30pm.
Please join Cynthia and the Augen Gallery for two openings: Preview Wednesday, June 5th from 5-7:30PM, and First Thursday, June 6th from 5-8PM. The show runs June 5-June 29, 2019.
Cynthia Mosser is a native of Portland, Oregon, and has been creating art in the region for over 19 years. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the United States and abroad, which includes the Czech Republic and Hungary. Her work has been critically reviewed in ARTnews Magazine, Willamette Week Newspaper, and featured in the national TV series Portlandia (S8 ep. 3 & 5).
Cynthia received a B.A. in Art History from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She is represented by the Augen Gallery in Portland, Oregon. Her website is cynthiamosser.com
